While the latest design of the car looks a lot similar to its predecessor, there are some modifications made to the model to make it more appealing. It offers more legroom and headroom for the passengers to sit comfortably. The pricing of the base model is at £22,465 and the top of the line in the series goes up to £28,430 in the UK market.

“We are really excited to share the new MINI Countryman which is going to be one of the toughest and rugged vehicle in our lineup. The new generation model is designed to allow customers to enjoy their adventure trips without having to think twice. The car is not only small but can be used on any kind of road,” said Nicolas Griebner.

The designers have moved to a new platform but the overall design of the MINI has been retained. The best things that people love about the brand is still there but in a better package. The car is 30mm wider and 200mm longer than the previous edition. It competes with the likes of the Audi Q2 and the Q3. When the seats are in place, the 2017 MINI Countryman offers about 450 liters of boot space and if folded, it goes up to 1,309 liters of storage space in the rear end.

Some of the changes incorporated in the model include large LED headlights similar to the ones found in SUVs, pop out tail lamps, wide grille, silver roof rails and sill plates. The rear number plate is now placed on top of the boot lid and on the whole the car has a very aggressive look to it.

The auto brand offers about five different powertrains to choose from. While two of them are petrol engines, there are two diesel variants and one plug-in hybrid model. The engines are mated to a manual or automatic transmission system as the buyer requires with a four-wheel drive system. The base model renders up to 134 horsepower while the four-cylinder diesel engine offers 148 horsepower.

The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 9.6 seconds. There’s another powerful variant which can accelerate to the same speed in just 7.5 seconds, making it the fastest MINI available in the market.
