The new 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo has jumped to a higher level and to buy one, the buyer should be spending close to $200k.

It is easily one of the most powerful cars in the market and in order to go for such horsepower, it is mandatory to spend a breathtaking $176,585. Obviously, Nissan is not targeting the average buyer with their hyper car. Compared to last year’s version, the new model is at least $25,000 more and there is a slew of new features that Nissan has integrated in the car to justify the price increase.

The increased price tag might put off some potential customers because it is much higher than what most expected the 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo to be priced at. Some of the notable features found in the car include a sophisticated interior with a fully connected dashboard, large 8-inch touchscreen display to control the infotainment system and a stylish V-motion grille. The price bump was about $8,220 last year in comparison with the 2015 edition.

The new model powered by a 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 engine which is capable of producing up to 600 horsepower combined with 481 lb feet of torque. The current generation GT-R Nismo is extremely comfortable to sit as it uses Recaro seats covered with high quality leather. The steering wheel is exclusively designed by the Nismo team. The Alcantara steering wheel will give more control over the car and responds much better than any ordinary steering wheel.

Other features found in the new car includes carbon fiber rear spoiler, red accented ground effects made of carbon fiber materials and a slew of other changes. The 2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo is now priced very close to the Porsche 911 Turbo S. The starting price of the Turbo S is $189,150 and Nissan is almost there to give it an equal competition.

It is unclear whether the price increase every year is being done with the sole purpose to reach the Porsche model or the company is actually adding some great features and components to justify it. Whatever the reason is, Nissan has now officially joined the list of elite cars and can compete on equal grounds with not just Porsche but every other model in the hyper car market. The car is available for purchase at dealership stores right now. If you could afford the rate, it’s definitely a great purchase that has the style and performance to turn heads wherever you go.
