Based on other sources, we confirmed that it will most likely be a Monday launch. In their Twitter post, Ford teased patrons with a new light hatch. It is a minor aspect and we do expect the Fiesta to sport a whole lot of next generation features. The car is also expected to have new powertrain options, improved performance and a balanced pricing so as to keep it affordable for its buyers. The reveal date has been decided to sync with the ‘Go Further’ Ford event that is scheduled to take place in Cologne, Germany.

The 2018 Ford Fiesta is a mystery car as there is very little information available. The occasional spy photos emerged online giving us a glimpse of what to expect in it, in terms of size and a bunch of pre-production prototype models. The final production version will definitely look quite different from these concepts but the company being quite secretive of their work, it made it difficult to know what kind of powertrain or modifications they intend to bring in.

The biggest change to the next gen Fiesta could be the front bumper and the overall body. While the brand didn’t discuss on the possibility of mounting it on a new platform, they could go with a revised version of the existing platform. Interior quality will witness a significant boost similar to the ones found in the Mazda 2 and Volkswagen Polo. After all, comfort always plays a crucial role in small hatchbacks along with fuel efficiency. Ford has planned to balance their both while offering best value for money so as to undercut their competition.

Sync 3 infotainment system will be used to control the center console. Premium quality materials with carbon fiber finish and occasional leather touches are also expected to be part of the upgrade. The powertrain will be three cylinder and four cylinder options, both for the petrol and the diesel engine variants. Once the base model is out, the auto brand will come up with a Fiesta ST, a powerful and high output version of the car powered by a 1.0-liter Ecoboost mill.

With just days to go, it won’t be long before the 2018 Ford Fiesta is launched. And, we will bring all the details you need to know once the manufacturer shares them at the launch event.
