A complete overhaul is about to pave way for an amazing 2018 Toyota Camry.
The crowd favorite car is about to get much better and when it does, it might probably make way for similar models in stores.
Toyota is busy revamping the Camry and we are supposed to see the all-new design in 2017. Spy photographers who always happen to break the ice much earlier before the launch have managed to capture the prototype variant in action. They not only exposed the uncovered part of the car but also confirmed that there will be four exhaust tips in the upcoming model.
While it is obvious that the automobile manufacturer will go for a much powerful powertrain variant, there is also a rumor that they plan to introduce a high-performance variant of the Camry to make sports car enthusiasts happy. In the new model, it is easy to spot the multiple exhaust tips, sporty wheels with large footprint, body kit and some design elements on both the front and the rear end.
Based on earlier sources, the 2018 Toyota Camry is based on the TNGA architecture which is already being used with the Prius. The car will significantly weigh less made possible by ample usage of carbon fiber materials. The engine will be the same as the earlier edition, the 3.5-liter V6 as the high end alternative while a new 2.0-liter turbo four powertrain is also expected to join the lineup.
Some of the upgrades done to the new model include LED headlights, narrow taillights for a sleek and stylish look combined with a low roofline. The dashboard is equipped with redesigned air vents and uses chrome vents which makes the instrument panel look premium. The car will use the latest infotainment system with all the connectivity features that one would expect in a next gen launch.
Toyota has a solid lead in the midsized segment despite the increasing competition from Honda Accord and Nissan Altima. The Camry is an easy choice for buyers who already own the older edition of the car and from the design aspect, it looks like a huge leap in the right direction. The camouflage hides majority of the model but we can still make some of the elements out through the leaked photos.
The 2018 Toyota Camry is scheduled to hit stores by the end of 2017. An official reveal will take place in January next year at the Detroit expo.
