Acer announced the launch of its new Android smartphone, the Liquid Zest Plus, in April 2016 in New York followed by the unveiling ceremony shortly after at the MWC.
The handset hit the Chinese market a month later. After this initial release, the device will soon be made available across the world for Acer lovers. While dual SIM smartphones are gaining popularity and are coming out in large numbers, Acer’s latest device continues to be a single micro SIM smartphone. According to the manufacturer, the key highlight of this gadget is its large battery for a handset of its price range. Another interesting feature is the ability to easily capture a screenshot by just pressing the volume control and power buttons together. The screenshot can later be accessed from the gallery where it gets saved along with other images. The following article lets you know about the specifications of this Acer offering.
Body Material, Size and Weight
The Liquid Zest Plus comes encased in a plastic body like all Liquid smartphones in the low and medium budget price range. Due to this, the device without a doubt feels light in the hand. However, the exact weight and dimensions of the gadget are not known at the moment. Also, owing to the plastic body, the smartphone does not depict the premium feel of similar priced handsets with metallic bodies or frames.
Screen Display and Pixel Resolution & Density
The manufacturer has opted for an IPS LCD screen with a Corning Gorilla glass for its Liquid device. This ensures that you get really good viewing angles and protect your screen from being prone to scratches as well. The Zest Plus encompasses a decent screen size of 5.5 inches. The pixel resolution and pixel density of the Acer smartphone are 720 x 1280 and 267ppi respectively. While the values by themselves are not all that great, you can be assured of sufficient clarity and crispness for the displayed texts and images. Also, the screen size is ideal for those who would like to use their handsets for activities other than just related to phone calls and messages.
Cameras – Primary and Secondary
Acer has done justice to the Liquid Zest Plus in the camera department. While the primary rear camera is a LED flashbased 13MP shooter with laser autofocus and phase detection, the front secondary camera is a 5MP snapper. The best part of the primary camera is its tri-focusing capability that helps you in easy focusing of objects. With this focusing system in place, you can focus your camera lens on scenes or scenery in as less as 0.03 seconds. As for the front shooter, it makes use of an 85-degree wide angle lens. This can be quite helpful if you are passionate about group selfies and are interested in taking selfies with a large group of people.
Configuration Under the Hood
The Zest Plus is almost at par as other smartphones in its category with respect to its under the hood configuration. With 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM that can be expanded further, the Liquid handset supports a MediaTek MT6735 chipset, a 1.3GHz clocking quad core CPU and a Mali-T720MP2 graphics processor. There is a dedicated memory card slot to insert a memory card and gain on a maximum of additional 32GB storage. To save space on either the device or the memory card, you can swap installed apps from one source to the other.
The best deal is the out of the box installation of Android’s most recent Marshmallow as the operating system. Thanks to this, you can avail many operating system features that are not available in earlier ones such as those related to security aspects.
Battery
The battery in the Acer Liquid Zest Plus is really huge. The handset houses a large Li-ion non-removable 5,000 mAh battery that is usually found only in phablets and tablets. Interestingly, this battery supports the quick charging functionality that helps it to gain 50 percent juice with less than one hour of charge. Additionally, according to the manufacturer, with intensive data usage, the battery will last for one complete day before it drains out. With moderate use, the device can be used for three days before it has to be charged again. Yet another noteworthy feature is the ability of the Zest Plus to render USB on-the-go support. Because of this, you can share your gadget’s battery power with another device.
