Xiaomi has never been the best when it comes to rolling out Android software updates, but the Chinese OEM is still doing its best to ensure that a number of its devices are updated to the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
In a new series of events, the company has made Android 7.0 Nougat update available to a number of devices ranging from the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro all the way to the Xiaomi Mi 4C. The Mi Note Pro was released in 2015 and so did the Mi 4C. However, the Mi 4S, Mi Max, and Mi Max Pro, we are talking about 2016 releases, but still, some of the devices came in with the older Android Lollipop.
Updating the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, Mi 4C, and Mi 4S all the way from Android Lollipop to Android 7.0 Nougat is a huge step for the Chinese OEM, especially when looking at its bad track record with respect to software updates. However, the update was expected to come to the Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Max Pro at some point this year. In fact, the tech giant had confirmed back in December 2016 that quite a huge number of devices will be updated to version 7.0 of the Android OS. Well, the time is now!
Be warned that none of these Android 7.0 Nougat updates to the mentioned Xiaomi smartphones is a stable release. After carrying out extensive tests, Xiaomi has now released the developer version that is only meant for a few people since it is still in beta. The good side of the story is that with this new update, it means that the stable release is not so far away. Hopefully, it won’t be long before the update is made live for all users of the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, Xiaomi Mi 4C/4S, Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Max Pro.
