Owners of the phablet ASUS ZenFone 3 Ultra can now enjoy the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update on their devices. The update has just started rolling out and it’s coming in over the air with software version 14.1010.1702.36.
As you may know, ASUS is fond of releasing its phones with different variants or rather model numbers. With this in mind, be warned that this update is currently rolling out to the ZenFone 3 Ultra variant with model number ZU680KL. According to the Taiwanese company, the update could take up to a week before all units of the handset receive the OTA notification to download and install Nougat.
The good side of the story is that you can trigger the update manually by heading to Settings>About phone>System updates>Check for updates. If the update is ready for your device, you should be able to download and install it on your phablet.
As expected, the ZenFone 3 Ultra will be updated with all the new features that Android 7.0 Nougat comes with, including multi-window mode and Quick Settings, among others. Furthermore, ASUS has a bunch of its own updates that include bug fixes to past issues as well as enhanced performances. Note that when you install this update, you won’t find the Share link app and app shortcuts for Flashlight and System update, among others. However, you can still access these shortcuts in the aforementioned Quick Settings or take the longer route to the System Settings.
The new multi-window mode also gets a nifty shortcut of enabling it. You only need to tap and hold the Touch key. The option is also available in the latter’s settings. It gets even better as the updated ASUS ZenFone 3 Ultra now supports multiple pages and it’s also possible to edit toggles.
ASUS has published more details of the changes brought by Android 7.0 Nougat to the ZenFone 3 Ultra and you can find them via the link below.
