Android M is the latest version of the Android mobile operating system. Released in October 2015, Android 6.0 Marshmallow arrived with a dozen of enhanced features.
Android 6.0 M ideally improves the general performance and user experience of the former Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Marshmallow update has taken quite long to reach many devices since its release. At long last, Verizon is officially rolling out the Android 6.0 update to its LG G4, LG G3 and HTC One M9 users. Users of these three smartphones should be getting the update OTA (over-the- air). The update can alternatively be accessed manually via the device settings menu. On the other hand, T- Mobile HTC One M9 owners are also publicly getting the Android M update just on time with the promised date.
“Ready to install” notification
LG G3, LG G4, and HTC One M9 Verizon Wireless subscribers should expect notifications that the update is ready to install on their respective devices. This is for subscribers who haven’t received Marshmallow update notification so far. T-Mobile had initially promised to roll out the Marshmallow update to its HTC One M9 subscribers around this time. It has come to happen as T-Mobile HTC One M9 users have started receiving the Android M update on their devices as expected and without delay.
There are some users, however, who cannot wait for the update notification to hit their devices for installation. If you are that impatient, you can as well acquire the new Android M update manually through your phone’s settings menu. For Verizon Wireless LG G3 and LG G4 subscribers, they should locate “About Phone” from the settings menu. Once you find “About Phone”, tap on it and then go to “Update Center” > “System Updates” > “Check For Update”. This will prompt the Marshmallow update to start downloading on your device.
If you are an HTC One M9 subscriber either on T-Mobile or Verizon Wireless, open the settings menu. Head to “System updates” > “HTC Software Update” > “Check Now”. This is meant to manually get the Marshmallow update without having to wait for your carrier to push the update notification to your device.
T-Mobile LG G3 will have to wait longer for Android M
LG G4 users on T-Mobile started receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update some weeks ago. For the LG G3 same update, T-Mobile says that it is still under the “Manufacturer Development” stage. With such revelation, it implies that the T-Mobile LG G3 users will have to wait much longer as two more phases are still in waiting for the update’s official release.
On the other hand, T-Mobile HTC One M8 should soon start receiving the Android M update as it is reportedly in its second phase of getting processed.
