Samsung, one of the world leaders in smartphones, announced that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will soon receive Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update.

While most smartphones distributed by this giant still use the previous OS, they began rolling out updates for select smartphones. One of those that will be getting an update is Galaxy Note 4 and users are excited with the update. Users from Poland, Turkey and India confirmed this report.

Along with the update to Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will now be able to enjoy the features Android Marshmallow has to offer. Verizon already announced earlier that Android Marshmallow update will start to roll out for Samsung Galaxy S6+. It is also pushing for an update for Samsung Galaxy Note 5, although what we can verify right now is the update only on Galaxy Note 4 smartphones.

The update first hit users in South Korea and will soon follow for some carriers in the United States. According to some reports, the update will only appear for models that use Exynos Chipset. Therefore, Galaxy note 4 users in countries like Singapore, India, Europe and Australia are the first to experience the update. This doesn’t mean that the other models won’t be getting an update and it is expected that the update will come soon for the other models too.

So what are the advantages of this update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 users? For one, it is believed that models that will receive the update will receive screen-off memo feature that used to be available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 users only. It will also receive Android’s April Security Patch.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will receive updates automatically. However, users can also check it manually by going to their settings, choose “About phone”, click “System updates” and choose “Check for Updates”. Aside from Sprint, there’s no other reported carrier mentioned that will release update although it is also expected that other couriers will follow pursuit soon.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will follow pursuit after Sprint announced Android Marshmallow OTA update for their users. It is expected to complete the updates on May 19. The security updates, both from Android and Samsung add protection for the users. It is also expected to fix bugs that cause trouble for some users. AT&T and T-Mobile subscribers will receive the update as well. Carrier companies in Canada are also expected to roll out the update for their users.

Samsung is not the only company that is expected to update their smartphones. Others follow suit as well. Earlier, brands like Lenovo, Motorola, Huawei and LG had already started rolling out updates for some of their high end smartphones. These companies are expected to roll out the update for their other smartphone models as well.

Soon, most smartphones will receive Android Marshmallow update. Users can finally enjoy a longer battery life and added protection.

  1. i already updated mine 2 days ago update size was 1406.88 mb and honestly i love it more than lollipop its buttery smooth now ram management is way better than lollipop and the coolest thing is that we get note 5 features specially off screen memo really its the best feature.

  2. I own as verizon galaxy note 4 and we were one of the very last to receive our lollipop update. I’m hoping it won’t be the case for marshmallow 6.0.1 because I’m totally in love with the new features providedo and I’m hoping to be using them sooner rather than later. Verizon please don’t disappoint your galaxy note 4 customers this time around and be more like Sprint who has pleasures their note 4 customers with the marshmallow experience.
