In case you didn’t know, Steve Wozniak is one of the brains behind the birth of the current Apple. While at present he is not directly involved with the iPhone maker, his words on current and emerging technologies cannot go unnoticed.
Apparently, Wozniak is not afraid to praise the efforts of the closest rivals of the company he helped bring up – Samsung. While Apple has been slow in the race towards VR, Samsung is not lagging behind in this niche. With the unveiling of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the South Korean company announced special deals for those who preordered the phone prior to its official release. This deal included a Samsung Gear VR, a device that has been praised for its great price and quality combination.
Now, according to the Apple co-founder, the new Samsung Gear VR is one of the things that makes him emotional. He was openly full of praise for Samsung and what it is trying to establish in the VR world, saying that the Gear VR “takes you to other worlds. It’s so real” and it’s basically “everywhere you look. That one makes me emotional,” he said.
As pointed out earlier, Wozniak is no longer attached to Apple, but he is not afraid to express his desire to see the company he co-founded make the jump to the VR world by coming in with a device that is actually more “advanced when compared to the ones we are seeing” in the current market.
Such words coming from such a great tech mogul will only serve as an inspiration to Samsung, which is also rumored to be working on an even better VR-based headset that will better compete with the likes of the HTC Vive and Oculus VR. It will also serve as an encouragement for the company to serve more of these units to prospective buyers of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6 (or Note 7), just like what happened with this year’s earlier releases.
Samsung Gear VR is currently one of the best and affordable ways to the virtual reality world as it costs just $100.
