Apple unveiled the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the second generation Apple Watch 2 at an event on September 7 and just two days later, these devices are now up for preorders.
Before the release of the phones and the smartwatch, rumors had pointed towards a similar happening and it has indeed lived up to be the truth, with the official shipping slated for September 16. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are now available for preorders in 29 regions across the globe, not leaving behind key markets such as North America, Asia, and Europe.
The preorders can be made right through the official Apple website as well as the Apple Store app for those using iOS devices. The devices can also be obtained from online stores for partner wireless carriers, including the four major carriers in the U.S. As noted earlier, the official shipping will start next week Friday, which is the same day that Apple is expected to have stocked its retail outlets with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
Even though the likes of North America, Europe’s Belgium, Italy, Germany, the UK, Portugal, Norway, Netherlands, Denmark as well as Asia’s Hong Kong, UAE, China, and Taiwan, among others, can make a preorder for the iPhone 7 right away, there are other regions that will start seeing the phones from next month. Those in Croatia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovakia, Kuwait, Russia, Iceland, Hungary, Greece, and Monaco, among others will start making preorders for the devices as from September 23, a week after the first handsets ship. It gets even worse for those in India as preorders for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will go live as from October 7.
For U.S. dwellers, the iPhone 7 (32GB) starts at $649 while the 128GB model is priced at $749. If this storage option is not enough for you, there is a 256GB variant that is priced at $849. Coming to the iPhone 7 Plus (32GB), you need $769 while the 128GB variant will ask for $869. The high-end model, which packs 256GB of onboard storage, costs $969.
As for the Apple Watch 2, preorders are live in 27 countries, with the U.S. and the UK leading the way. Those in Canada, Belgium, China, UAE, Hong Kong and the Netherlands can also get this series 2 watch as from Friday next week, just like the iPhone 7. Like the 2016 iPhones, the Apple Watch 2 will also be available for preorders in India as from October 7.
In terms of pricing, the Apple Watch 2 starts at $369, but this only applies to the 38mm models. As for the 42mm variants, the price starts from $399. The prices are the same for the Nike version, however, the Space Black stainless steel and the stainless steel models are priced at $599 for the 42mm version or $549 for the 38mm model, which also includes a sport band. As for the white ceramic version, the 38mm version is priced at $1249 while the 42mm version comes in at $1299.
