Apple recently came up with the new iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus to herald the new era of iPhones.

Several specifications of the device have been available as leaks for quite a while now. It was very much clear that Apple was going to have a dual camera setup on the Apple iPhone 7 models but without exact nature of the usage. Similarly, the iPhones have been expected to feature increased battery size as a result of losing the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Apple unveiled the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus by detailing several new features of the phone including improved battery life but without mentioning the exact nature of the battery.

It is now learnt through TENAA certification that the smaller iPhone 7 will come with a 1960 mAh battery whereas the larger iPhone 7 Plus will have a 2900 mAh battery. Both these are improvements over the predecessor and the primary reason behind the improved battery life on the new generation iPhones. It must be remembered that the company has been increasing battery sizes in recent years, but this is perhaps the biggest jump so far. The Apple iPhone 6S offered a 5% increase compared to the predecessor, but this improvement on the Apple iPhone 7 is a 15% increase.

Theoretically, the phone should have a 15% increase in battery life, but this is not the case because the display is now brighter and the phone has a different configuration in terms of processors.

Several aspects of the device like display size remains similar, but the ability to run a smartphone for longer still remains one of the biggest targets for all manufacturers. The Apple iPhone 7 not only increases the battery size but also the minimum storage capacity. The 16 GB version has become a hindrance to modern smartphones especially on the iPhone since they do not support memory cards. Thankfully, this version is done away with to be replaced by the 32 GB variant. Even more impressive is the fact that Apple is not charging customers for the improvements since the base Apple iPhone 7 is priced the same as the base Apple iPhone 6S.

One day or the other, the battery capacity on the new iPhone 7 was always going to be available. The only thing that needs to be done is extensive testing of the phone to determine battery life in real-world usage.
