Apple iPhone 8 is expected to launch in September this year, but the shipments could take some more time.
Traditionally, Apple launches its latest iPhones in the month of September and latest reports claim that the company will be sticking to this time line this year as well. The latest news is that pre ordering will begin in September, but the shipping will only start many weeks later.
Shipping Delayed
Brian White of Drexel Hamilton, a longtime analyst of Apple devices states in a note to investors that their contact believes that the iPhone 8 with 5.8 inches display screen can be delayed by a few weeks, as there are some issues connected with the 3D sensor technology. It is therefore expected that Apple will be taking the pre orders for the device in September and the iPhone 8 will be shipped only some weeks later. According to the investment firm analyst, Brian White, Apple will be able to deliver the new iPhone 8 well in time before the beginning of the holiday season.
The Apple iPhone 8 is expected to come in three versions. It will also come with a complete glass design and steel for the frame. It is also rumored that the iPhone 8 will offer support for wireless charging, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S8.
No Confirmation
However, all this could be mere speculation as well, as there is still a long time for September. It is quite possible that the 3D sensing technology challenges could be sorted out earlier than expected and the situation can improve. If this happens, then there is no possibility of a delayed shipping and the iPhone 8 devices will be shipped as soon as the pre orders are taken. White has warned that it is too early to reach to any conclusion regarding the shipping of the iPhone 8, so Apple might just manage to deliver the upcoming smartphone on time in September, as usual.

Limited Supply
It is expected that there will be three new iPhones for 2017 and one of them will come with a 5.8 inches OLED screen display. In one of the likely scenarios, it is expected that the iPhone 8 device will be available for shipping only in a limited quantity. The supply will probably be increased in a gradual manner over the months. This could also lead to an initial delay in the shipping of the iPhone 8 this year.
Other Predictions
The prediction about the late shipping of the 5.8 inches iPhone 8 is in line with earlier research that was conducted by the Barclays team. The research suggested that the pre orders would begin in September, but a large portion of the shipment might be delayed by a few weeks. This news is also in alignment with another set of reports in the Economic Daily News, which speculated that the iPhone 8 of 2017 would be delayed to October or even November this year, due to some challenges related to the 3D camera on the device.
