Aston Martin made heads turn at the Los Angeles auto show with their immensely powerful Vanquish S, a power boosted model that promises great sleek design, improved performance with near gearbox and suspension setup.
Being one of the top end hypercars, the new Aston Martin Vanquish S is priced at a breathtaking £199,950. People who already own the original Vanquish may not find this surprising because compared to it, the S edition is priced just £6,995 higher. For everyone else, this could be a dream car that offers an exhilarating experience on the road. Under the hood is a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine which produces a cool 595 horsepower. It is about 25 hp more than what the Vanquish offers. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in about 3.5 seconds. The top speed is still at the same 201 miles per hour as the previous model.
The Vanquish S might sound look like a simple upgrade that demands an increased price tag but Aston Martin engineers explained that there’s more to it. The car not only bumps up the performance by good numbers but can offer stronger throttle response, delivers more power made possible by large inlet manifolds. The powertrain is attached to an eight-speed Touchtronic II transmission system. With so many tweaks, the model is capable of offering faster gearshifts and has an improved suspension system. It now uses damper internals, anti-roll bar bushes and the spring rate is altered for increased comfort.
Carbon fiber is the primary component used in the Aston Martin Vanquish S edition. The prominent changes that one would spot include wide air intake, rear diffuser with revamped design, two carbon fiber blades and a powerful quad exhaust system. Buyers can choose to go with 20-inch five spoke diamond cut wheels with black or silver finish, as required. The car has carbon fiber roof, honeycomb mesh grille with bonnet louvres and mirrors. Such integration allowed the designers to cut significant weight off the car increasing its acceleration and overall performance.
Exquisite buyers can pay additional costs to upgrade the Vanquish S with Filograph quilted leather and upgrade the center console with satin covered carbon fiber material. The brand confirmed that the car will be available for purchase now and deliveries to their first lot of customers will commence before the end of this year.
