CES is just two days away and apparently, there will be a new ASUS ZenFone flagship to be launched at the event.
The Chinese OEM has just confirmed it will be attending the CES 2017 event that will be held beginning January 4th. Even though not vivid, ASUS has taken to Twitter to confirm that it will be rolling out a new ZenFone phone that is powered by the world’s best processor – the Snapdragon 835.
This is great news for lovers of ASUS products and it seems the company is ready to pick from where it left with the ASUS ZenFone 3 Deluxe lineup that packed the 2016 flagship processor – the Snapdragon 820 and 821. Whether this phone will be a member of the ZenFone 4 family that is expected to succeed the ZenFone 3 is still unknown, but it is very possible.
As noted earlier, ASUS has not confirmed the name of the phone and chipset in question, but the processor is confirmed to be one from Qualcomm. Given that the American chip maker is also expected to make the Snapdragon 835 public at the same event, it is possible that the upcoming ASUS ZenFone smartphone will be among the first, if not the first to come powered by this 10nm chipset.
It is also possible that ASUS could be lining up another smartphone in the shape of ZenFone 3 Zoom. This handset made an appearance on China’s TENAA last month and apparently, some publications believe that this is the phone that could end up using this most powerful processor in the world. The ZenFone 3 Zoom is rumored to be coming with a dual-lens camera setup on the back featuring 12MP and 13MP sensors.
The ZenFone 3 Zoom may also feature a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution, a RAM of 4GB and internal storage of 64GB and of course, a microSD card will also be available. To keep the phone alive, a 4850mAh battery is on the cards.
Keep in mind that the names of these phones highlighted in this article are based on educated guesses, but ASUS has yet to say a word regarding them. Given that the CES 2017 event is almost here, we should be able to know what ASUS has in store for us! Stay tuned!
