The sighting of the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 today on Geekbench with the Android 9 Pie OS makes it certain that the phone’s upgrade to the latest version of the operating system will be released by Asus soon.
The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 is one of the latest devices to be launched by the manufacturer in December 2018. But the OS pre-loaded in the device was the Android Oreo, version 8.1. Asus has been quick to upgrade to the new version. The phone runs on stock Android, which many users prefer, since there are very few smartphone models with the stock Android OS.

Positioned as a Mid-Segment Phone
The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 has a 6.26 inch IPS LCD display. The full HD+ display with a screen resolution is 1080 x 2280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The screen gets protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The processor is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and the device tested on Geekbench has 4 GB RAM. The phone released last month has another variant with 6 GB RAM. The internal storage on this device is 64 GB. There is one more 3 GB RAM variant with 32 GB onboard storage as well.

The rear camera setup has two sensors, 12 MP and 5 MP and the front selfie camera is 13 MP with LED flash and HDR capable. The phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. A large 5000 mAh battery under the hood must ensure the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 lasts a whole day if not more with normal use. Blue and Titanium are the colors the phone is released in.
On Geekbench, the device has scored 1479 on single core and 5491 on multi core scores, which are quite respectable. Along with the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2, the other phone Asus Zenfone Max M2 is also rumored to be listed for upgrade to the Android Pie OS soon. This phone has lower specs than the Pro model in respect of the processor, camera and battery.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 is the processor and the battery in this model is 4000 mAh against the 5000 mAh in the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2. In the camera department, the dual camera setup in the rear has a 13 MP and a 2 MP camera and the front selfie camera is 8MP. The anticipated upgrade to the Android Pie may be announced after the update for Pro model is released.
