BlackBerry DTEK60 Goes for Pre-Order in the United States before the Official Launch

BlackBerry recently announced its intention to launch more phones in the mid-range smartphone segment.

True to their word, there have been several rumors about the upcoming BlackBerry DTEK60. Surprisingly, the phone is now available to pre-order in the Canadian markets even though the device has not yet been officially launched by BlackBerry. If this was strange, the BlackBerry DTEK60 has just cropped up on the United States markets on a similar pre-order basis without any official launch. Even more interesting is the fact that these pre-order also do not come out with a specific shipping date for the product, but it should be available once the phone is official.

For the time being, rumors point to a pretty good device and its value for money prospect is enhanced because of the $499 price. BlackBerry has shifted to the android platform in the last few devices, but they have not been hugely well received due to the exorbitant price tag. BlackBerry Priv is regarded as one of the finest devices made by the company recent years, but it has met with such a lukewarm response throughout the world that BlackBerry has been forced to do offer significant discounts on the device.

B&H has started accepting pre-orders for the phone. Opting the BlackBerry DTEK60 early will give consumers the chance to enjoy a black soft case and a rapid travel charger free of cost. Apparently, these two products are worth close to $50, thus reducing the net price of the device down to $450.

The phone comes with a 5.5-inch screen with QHD resolution. It has been the standard fare amongst many of the high-end smartphones, but to see this combination device that costs less than $500 is likely to be a talking point. There is a 21-megapixel camera in the rear of the device while anequally powerful eight-megapixel camera is used for selfies. Even though the snapdragon 821 processor has just come into the market, the BlackBerry DTEK60 appears to miss out on this element.

The BlackBerry DTEK60 may only offer the snapdragon 820 processor, but this is unlikely to be a major miss considering that the performance may not be on a huge scale. A 3000 mAh battery may feel like the only disadvantage on the device. Even with all the battery optimization options on android 6.0 Marshmallow, the device may struggle to achieve anything over four hours of screen on time.
