Ever since the BlackBerry KEYone made a special appearance at the Mobile World Congress 2017, fans of the phone have never had the chance to get it in their hands.
However, if you live in Europe, you may want to know that the Canadian company will be ready to sell you the BlackBerry KEYone starting May 5, which is a month from now. The tech giant had initially confirmed that the KEYone will indeed be available in the region somewhere in May, but this is the first time we are getting hold of a specific release date.
The details of the BlackBerry KEYone release date in Europe come from UK’s online retailer, Clove. Apparently, the retailer has already listed the phone on its official website and if everything remains unchanged, the phone will hit the UK market at a price of 499 pounds, which includes all possible taxes.
As noted earlier, the BlackBerry KEYone was made official in February. However, it is only the European market that has now received an official release date. As for the likes of U.S., it remains unclear on when exactly this will be happening. Still, it would be safe to assume that the phone will also be made available in other major markets around the same date.
Just to give you a slight reminder, the BlackBerry KEYone comes with a compact 4.5-inch display screen with an impressive 1080p resolution. Under the hood, the device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC that is paired with a 3GB RAM. In terms of ROM, the KEYone has a decent package of 32GB, which can further be expanded using a microSD card of up to 256GB.
For the optics, the BlackBerry KEYone gets a 12MP shooter on the back with an aperture of f/2.0, PDAF, HDR, dual-tone LED flash and support for 4K video recording. The front has an 8MP selfie lens with an aperture of f/2.2 and support for 1080p video recording. Keeping it alive is a solid package of 3505mAh and comes with support for Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging via a USB-C port. You also get a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, a physical QWERTY keyboard and Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
