Be it the PS4, Xbox One or PC, you should probably start deleting all those old games because Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare requires some massive space to be installed.
Activision and developers Infinity Ward has confirmed that in order to install both games, players require at least 130 gigabytes of free hard disk space. The number is definitely high for even those who might have a 2TB edition of the console or similar HDD on their PC. After all, people usually store a lot of games at once, movies and television series that takes up space. Most AAA titles that got launched in recent times weighed around 40GB to 60GB. GTA 5 is a good example but the new Call of Duty obviously requires much more than that.
While Call of Duty Modern Warfare is an old game that was originally released in 2007, the new remastered version requires more space than the original edition. The developers confirmed that it requires at least 40GB to be installed and going by that quote, it looks like Infinite Warfare requires 90GB of storage.
There is still lack of clarity of the game’s size on Xbox One and PC editions. They are definitely not going to be small but compatibility requirements and new graphical enhancements might push the total size to 90GB on the PS4 Pro console. It might be somewhere around 60 to 70 gigabytes on other platforms.
The size of Infinite Warfare and Modern Warfare put together is much higher but we are not sure whether it includes the new multiplayer maps, six of them that MW is supposed to receive after launch. Things have got better for the Call of Duty franchise since their abysmal trailer launch on Youtube. The game looks more promising than the initial reveal but Activision didn’t talk about a standalone copy of Modern Warfare yet.
Players have to spend $80 to get the legacy edition of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare so that they can experience the re-mastered Modern Warfare. If you are going to buy a physical copy of the game, the disc should be inserted into the console at all times to play the single player and multiplayer modes in Modern Warfare. It has been designed in such a way to avoid players from being able to access the game even after they have sold their copy of Infinite Warfare.
