Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be Driven By Nvidia DLSS Technology on Switch 2

Cyberpunk 2077

The Switch 2 version of the game will have Quality Mode running at 30 FPS and Docked Performance mode at 40 FPS.

The whole world is waiting with bated breath for the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2. The much-awaited hybrid video game console is all set to arrive on June 5, 2025, in most regions across the world. CD Projekt Red has just confirmed that the soon-to-be-launched port of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will take the help of Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling or DLSS upscaling technology in both Handheld and Docked modes.

On Switch 2, Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a 30 FPS quality mode along with a 40 FPS performance setting that would have variable refresh rate displays.

Nintendo had to push Switch 2 orders ahead in the US and Canada because of the tariffs on global goods imposed by US President Trump. Nintendo, however, has given a confirmation about pre-orders for Switch 2 commencing on April 2 through retailers like GameStop and Best Buy.

While the Switch 2 console and games will not witness a surge in their pricing because of tariffs, the pricing of the Switch 2 Pro Controller and USB-C Camera would go up significantly.

The Nvidia processor, which the Switch 2 will come equipped with, will be much more powerful than the one which featured in its predecessor. Therefore, one expects game developers to enhance its performance with the help of modern features like DLSS. CD Projekt Red has already confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will take the help of Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology on the Switch 2 to enhance overall performance.

Cyberpunk 2077 will provide players with the option to choose between a Quality Mode and Performance Mode. While the former runs the game at 30 frames per second, the latter is driven by 40 frames per second.

Richard Leadbetter from Digital Foundry has said that the Docked and Handheld versions of Quality mode will opt for 30 FPS at 1080p.

The Docked Performance mode, on the other hand, will stick to a high resolution of 720p. Since Cyberpunk 2077 will use an older version of Nvidia DLSS, a few important features like multi-frame generation will not be a part of it.
