The competition in the smartphone market has only meant the buyers of these devices get to receive some crazy deals and offers.
We’ve seen the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6, and even the older LG G5 get some crazy discounts over the past few days and as it appears, these offers are not about to stop anytime soon. For instance, the flagship Xiaomi Mi Note 2 can be yours at this moment for a mere $487. If you remember well, the phone came in towards the end of last year, disguising itself as the replacement to the doomed Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 looks like a Galaxy Note 7 with its curved dual-edge display screen, including the size. The phone packs even much better specs under the hood and given that it has been around for a few months now, its price tag has dropped to just $577 on GearBest for the 128GB variant. While this is still a great price for a device of Xiaomi Mi Note 2’s caliber, the retailer wants you to have the base model of 4GB at just $487. Considering that this phone was originally priced at a massive $900, this is a pretty impressive deal for those in the market for a tidy flagship.
For the specs, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has a 5.7-inch Full HD curved edge AMOLED display screen, a Snapdragon 821 SoC, a massive 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage. The phone is kept alive by a huge 4070mAh battery unit and software-wise you get Android Marshmallow. For the cameras, there’s a decent 22.5MP shooter on the back and the front has an 8MP shooter for selfies.
If the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is far too much and unreachable, there’s another impressive deal on the LG G6. This phone was released a few months ago and so far, it has received quite a number of discounts up to now. At Best Buy, you can grab it for just $288. This deal only applies to the Verizon variant and must be paid on a contract of two years with $11.99 monthly installments.
Usually, the LG G6 sells on Best Buy at $672 or rather $28 per month on the same two-year contract, which means you save an impressive $384. Like the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, there’s a 5.7-inch display screen on the G6, but this one is a flat LCD panel with a QHD+ resolution. The processor under the hood is the same Snapdragon 821 but the G6 gets a smaller 4GB RAM and an even smaller 32GB of internal storage. For the cameras, the LG G6 has a dual 13MP+13MP setup on the back alongside a 5MP selfie shooter and keeping the lights on is a 3300mAh battery. Software-wise, there’s Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
At $288, the LG G6 might still prove to be costly for some and it’s why Best Buy has an even better deal on the Moto Z Play. Rather than pay the usual price of $408 or $17 per month for two years, the retailer wants you to have the Moto Z Play at just $143.76 or $5.99 per month. Like the LG G6, you must pay for the phone using a two-year contract and the deal is only available on the Verizon variant.
Unlike the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and LG G6, the Moto Z Play is not a flagship, rather, its USP is the battery capacity. The phone packs a massive 3510mAh unit, but the specs under the hood are midrange, including a Snapdragon 625 SoC, 3GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The screen size is 5.5 inches with a Full HD resolution and in terms of software, you get Android Marshmallow, but an update to Nougat is available. The cameras have a 16MP shooter on the back and a 5MP lens on the front with a LED flash.
