LeEco hasn’t had the best of life since its debut in the U.S. market towards the end of last year, but the Chinese OEM is working hard to ensure that its devices are easily accessible in the country via different retailers.
Since last year, LeEco Le Pro 3, Le S3 and other LeEco products have been selling in the U.S., but getting your hands on these products required that you visit any of Amazon, Best Buy or Target, if not the company’s official online store dubbed LeMall. However, there a change to this as the two phones can now be purchased via BrandsMart USA and in fact, the retailer has thrown in some amazing discounts to kick off the sales.
This is a great way for LeEco to get more people to buy their phones and other products in the U.S. and given their attractive specs vs specs combination, the two handsets should present interesting alternatives to the likes of Google Pixel XL, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, LG G6, HTC U Ultra and a bunch of other pricey flagships.
Both LeEco Le Pro 3 and Le S3 have amazing hardware packages. Where the former is a flagship, the latter is a midranger. The Le Pro 3 has a 5.5-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution and under the hood, there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC and 4GB RAM running the show. There’s 64GB of internal storage with no microSD card slot and in terms of photography, you get 16MP and 8MP lenses on the back and front, respectively. The main shooter has the likes of PDAF, dual-tone LED flash, 4K video recording and f/2.0 aperture.
The fingerprint scanner is rear-mounted and there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack, meaning you have to use the USB-C port for charging and audio connectivity. To keep it alive, you have a massive 4070mAh battery unit that supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology and software-wise, you have to deal with Android Marshmallow out of the box alongside a heavily customized eUI 5.8 skin.
On the other hand, the midrange LeEco Le S3 has the same 5.5-inch1080p screen like its counterpart, but the specs under the hood are different. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. The rear has a 16MP lens while the front panel carries an 8MP sensor, same as the Le Pro 3. Like the latter, there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack and instead, you’ll have to use USB-C port.
To keep the phone alive is a 3000mAh battery that supports fast charging technology from Qualcomm and software-wise, you get the same configuration as the LeEco Le Pro 3. The phone also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and 4G LTE connectivity, among others.
In terms of price, the LeEco Le Pro 3 is valued at $349.88, which is $50 off the usual $399.88. On the other hand, the Le S3 has the same discount, which means you buy it for $199.88 instead of $249.88.
