Fans can expect to hear something about the much-discussed Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion remake at the Xbox Direct event scheduled for January 2025.

When a gaming franchise thrives for several years, fans look forward to the next offering in the series. Fans tend to be a little more hopeful about a new game being released as a part of a franchise when the last game came out a while back. Fans also get a little excited and think of new possibilities when rumors of a popular game getting remade comes to the fore.

The Elder Scrolls: Arena, the first game in the Elder Scrolls franchise, was released way back in 1994. In these thirty years, one has seen a bunch of games released as a part of this franchise and all of them have had great success. In the multiplayer online role-playing gaming space, very few franchises have seen the kind of success that the Elder Scrolls franchise has seen. For a while, one had been hearing about an Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion remake in the works but nothing was confirmed.

Now, a new leak indicates the possibility of the Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion remake being announced next month. One has also come across rumors suggesting that an Xbox Direct event is scheduled to be organized next month. Fans believe this event could be used as a platform to make an official announcement about the Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion remake.

In the past, one had heard murmurs about the remake leak. There were talks about Virtuos putting together the game with the help of Unreal Engine 5. This gave further fuel to speculations about the remake getting an official launch in 2025.

When FTC looked into the acquisition of Microsoft by Activision Blizzard, one heard about an Oblivion remake or remaster being in the works. During this study, one came across documents that indicated towards the game releasing in the fiscal year 2002. That, of course, did not happen. Since both Microsoft and Bethesda maintained stoic silence on this topic, fans have become more and more curious with time.

If insider leaks from Extras1s are anything to go by, Xbox has plans to put together a direct event in January. During this event, there is a possibility of one getting further information about the Elder Scrolls IV remake. Not much is known about the remake at the moment but there is a good possibility of Unreal Engine 5 being used to put it all together.
