Xiaomi has risen to become one of the best smartphone sellers in Asia and starting 2017, the company’s handsets will start selling in the U.S. and other parts of the world.
While the OEM has quite a huge list of phones to choose from, the most popular lineup is the Redmi series. Just recently, the Chinese company came in with three phones in the Redmi series – the Xiaomi Redmi 4, Xiaomi Redmi 4A and Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime.
The standard model among the three is the Redmi 4, however, going for the Xiaomi Redmi 4A will earn you just about the same specs, features as well as performance levels, yet the price is even more affordable than its counterpart.
Just so as you know what you are up against, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with a decent 5-inch display panel that ships with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, the Redmi 4A comes with a midrange Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC that is clocked at a speed of 1.4GHz. This is paired with an Adreno 308 graphics processing chip while the RAM stands at 2GB. The memory for storage is 16GB, but there is room for microSD card expansion.
On the back of the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is a decent 13MP snapper while the frontal part houses a 5MP selfie camera. As usual with Chinese phones, you get support for dual-SIM connectivity while the battery is also amazing for an HD phone at 3120mAh. The phone is powered by Android Marshmallow out of the box, but there is no word on whether Android Nougat will hit the phone in the future. As far as network connectivity is concerned, there is little to worry about as the phone supports both GSM and CDMA carriers as well as 4G LTE.
From the look of things, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A is an entry-level phone with specs you won’t find on many entry-level phones. It gets even interesting when it comes to pricing as GearBest has listed it at a discounted price of just $93.99, down from the usual price of about $200. This means you save more than $100 while at the same time getting it at less than $100. The deal is limited (flash sale) and as at the time of this writing, a little over 100 pieces of the phone are still in stock, meaning you’ll have to hurry before the deal expires in about six days.
