Galaxy On7, 2016 with Fingerprint Scanner and Exynos Chip – A Compact Device is Likely

Samsung Galaxy On7

Samsung has recently announced the On7 Pro and the On5 and it is probably developing another version for the On7 smartphone.

The new variant was spotted on Geekbench, a benchmarking site, and points to a phone that will come with a RAM of 3 GB.

On7 2016 with 3GB RAM

The new On7 2016 will probably come with a RAM of 3 GB and a rear camera with a resolution of 13 MP. This will be combined with a front video or selfie camera of 8 MP. The phone will have a display screen in Full HD and will span 4.8 inches. The new variant will be smaller than the currently available On7 smartphones, which have a display screen of 5.5 inches. The company is probably going for customers who are on the lookout for a more compact device. The Geekbench also reveals that the phone is powered by the Marshmallow version, 6.0.1.

Codename SM G610F

The new variant of the On7 2016 comes with the codename of SM G610F. An Exynos processor will power it, 7870. According to Sammobile, the smartphone is headed towards India. According to the report, there is another variant that is powered by the Qualcomm, Snapdragon 625 and this is headed for China. If these reports have any truth in them, it seems that the company is expanding the Exynos chip to many other smartphones, beginning with the On7 2016. The device number points to the Indian market for this device, whereas the Snapdragon model points to a release in China.

Fingerprint Scanner

The new On7 2016 from Samsung Galaxy will also feature the fingerprint scanner. This will make it the first among mid range devices sporting the feature. Samsung has acquired a promising market share in India with the J series as well as the On series.

J2 2016

The company has also announced another phone, the J2 2016, coming with the Smart Glow. This feature provides illumination to the LED ring present around the primary camera, with respect to different notifications coming into the phone. Samsung had announced the iris scanner feature for the 2016 Note, the Note 7, but now it seems to be bringing the technology to mid range phones as well.

Mid Range Device

Samsung has just released the flagship smartphone, the Note 7, and is now all ready to release this mid range device, the On7 2016. The company has not shared much regarding the new device, but there have been plenty of rumors and leaks in the past few weeks. There is an imminent launch of the device, as it has been seen on several benchmarking websites.

The original Samsung On7 was released by the tech giant in November 2015, so it is likely that the successor to the phone, the On7 2016 will come at the same time. However, there are rumors of an earlier release in August this year or in September.

Spotted in Zauba

The device On7 2016 was also seen in Zauba, which is a site that tracks imports and exports of India.  The model number for the 2015 version of the On7 came with the number SM G600F, so the SM G610F is likely to be the 2016 version of the On7.
