News about the Galaxy S26 Edge from Samsung has slowly started pouring in.

The latest report hints at how the smartphone would be positioned in the Galaxy S26 lineup. This is also an indication that the brand will offer an Edge variant annually in the years to follow.

The report by The Elec states that the South Korean brand is contemplating having an Edge model in its upcoming Galaxy S26 series. The manufacturer will remove the S26+ from its lineup and position the Galaxy S26 Edge between the standard and Ultra variants. However, the final decision will be based on how the present S25 Edge is received by the public. If things pan out as intended, the Galaxy S series will see five models going forward, including the affordable FE model.

Samsung is said to be planning this change based on the sales records of the Plus model in the past years. The Plus model appears to be the least preferred model, while the most popular choices are the standard and Ultra models.

Interestingly, if the brand puts its plan into action, it will be no different from what its competitor Apple has planned for its upcoming iPhone 17 series. The Cupertino giant will do away with its least-selling Plus model and introduce the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air model in its place.

S25 Edge Specs

Under the hood, the smartphone has a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and 12 GB of RAM, along with 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. It runs on Android 15 topped with One UI 7.
