When the word luxury comes into play as far as smartphones are concerned, what comes into our minds are things like style and raw power. This is exactly what the Gionee M2017 brings to the table.

In fact, the Gionee M2017 comes with more than just style and power as it adds efficiency and excess battery power to the same – features that are rarely associated with the utilitarian smartphone world. One thing that makes the Gionee M2017 such a powerful phone is the fact that it comes with a massive 7000mAh battery unit on board. It is hard to find such a huge battery unit in a phone, especially since many handsets are struggling to hit the 3000mAh mark. Given the huge battery capacity, the Chinese-exclusive handset comes with support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology to ensure that you don’t spend the whole day waiting for the battery to charge to full capacity.

Speaking of Qualcomm, the Gionee M2017 has a Snapdragon 653 SoC under the hood that is clocked at a speed of 1.95GHz alongside an Adreno 510 GPU. This powerful processor is paired with a huge RAM of 6GB, making it one of the few handsets in the Chinese market that carry such huge massive raw power.

In terms of display size, the luxury phone comes with a decent dual-curved 5.7-inch AMOLED screen that features a 2K resolution, ensuring that you get the most perfect views of whatever content is in play. The back of the phone also comes with a powerful dual-lens camera that combines a 12MP lens and a 13MP lens. The aperture is large at f/1.7, meaning you get amazing shots even when the external lighting conditions are not the best.

What could come as a let-down is the fact that the Gionee M2017 comes preinstalled with Google’s year-old Android Marshmallow out of the box. But with Android Nougat only available on a handful of smartphones, it is understandable. Still, the Gionee M2017 should be updated to the latest Android OS in no time, especially when looking at the price tag it commands. To get the phone from the company’s official website, you’ll need an equivalent of $1000 (6,999 Yuan).

Features such as a fingerprint scanner, a huge storage capacity of 128GB, support for 4G+ and many others are also on board. But as noted earlier, this phone is currently exclusive to the Chinese market. Whether this will change in the near future is still unknown.
