Gionee P7 Max Launched with 5.5-inch Display, Android Marshmallow and Costs Just $208

Gionee P7 Max

The Gionee P7 Max is the next big thing to come from the Chinese OEM as far as the smartphone world is concerned. The company has been busy in recent days, unveiling the likes of Gionee M6, Gionee M6 Plus as well as Gionee S6 Pro.

Now, to keep on cementing its place in the already crowded smartphone industry, the OEM has moved in with a new Gionee P7 Max. Like many other Android OEMs that are still new and are trying to build their brands, the Gionee P7 Max sports a premium-looking full metal unibody that houses quite a number of great hardware specs and features.

There is a 5.5-inch IPS Full HD screen that benefits from a 1920 x 1080 pixels of resolution, giving it a decent display quality like what you find on many other midrangers and high-end models like the iPhone 7 Plus, OnePlus 3 and Xperia X Performance, among others. Under the hood, the Gionee P7 Max has a 64-bit MediaTek processor that comes with 8 cores with a top clock speed of 2.2GHz. This MT6595 processor is paired with a RAM of 3GB and there is 32GB of inbuilt storage. As for now, it is still unclear whether the Gionee P7 Max will include an external storage option.

On camera matters, the Gionee P7 Max has a 13MP snapper on the back that is paired with a 5MP snapper on the front-facing panel. To keep it alive, there is a capable 3100mAh battery unit, which should not give up on you in the middle of the day. Even though Android Nougat is now available, buyers of the Gionee P7 Max will have to stick around with Android Marshmallow before this new OS comes as an update, probably next year.

As at the time of this writing, the Gionee P7 Max has only been confirmed for those in Nepal. However, we expect the company to announce an international availability of the handset. In the launch market, it is priced at about $208, which is a decent price tag for a phone with such a roomy, high-quality display, decent hardware specs as well as the proven Android Marshmallow OS, among other goodies.
