The world of smartphones is growing daily with the entry of new devices from all parts of the world. Most of these new entrants have been coming from China and the latest, Gionee S6 Pro, is no different.

For those in India, the Gionee S6 Pro has now been launched in this highly-targeted market and it goes for Rs 23,999, an equivalent of about $360. Featuring gold and rose gold color variants, the Gionee S6 Pro comes with a handful of interesting features that for sure many will relish having at the mentioned price tag. One such feature is support for VR. In fact, the company has launched the Gionee S6 Pro alongside a compatible VR headset that costs Rs 2,499, about $38.

As for the rest of the specs, the Gionee S6 Pro sports a nice metallic unibody design that makes it look more of a premium device than its price tag commands. There is a roomy display unit of 5.5 inches with a Full HD resolution. The 2.5D curved edge screen also comes with Corning’s Gorilla Glass technology to ensure it remains intact in cases of accidental falls.

Under the hood, Gionee went for a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC, an octa-core chipset that is clocked at a speed of 1.8GHz and is paired with a Mali T860MP2 graphics processing unit and a flagship RAM of 4GB. The software on board is Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but the company should be having plans to roll out a Nougat update at some point in future. This stock OS has an Amigo OS 3.2 skin running on top of it. The battery is decent at 3130mAh, which the company says it can keep the Gionee S6 Pro talking for more than 38 hours.

You also get a fingerprint scanner, 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C, Bluetooth, among other latest connectivity options.

The Gionee S6 Pro can be bought in India as from today, October 1.
