Google Nexus 6P Now Available for $349 with Project Fi Activation

Google Project Fi

Google’s Project Fi has been around for quite some time now and it is slowly spreading its wings to different parts of the world. However, to take advantage of this program, you need to have any of Google Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X or Nexus 6, but they’ll need to be North American versions.

While the Project Fi program is only available to American households through the likes of T-Mobile, Sprint, and U.S. Cellular, Google is looking to spread the usage of this service to other parts of the world, among them the UK. There is no doubt that ever since April 2015 launch, Project Fi has been growing steadily across the country. However, those using the service and at the same time traveling abroad usually have a hard time as they will still need to get local SIM cards or maybe jump between Wi-Fi hotspots in order to get connected.

This will be no more as Google has confirmed that Project Fi services will now be accessible to those using the Three network. What this means is that those using Three will now be able to access data speeds of up to 20x faster as opposed to the current status even when traveling abroad. In the same post, the search engine giant also mentioned that Project Fi has now reached over 135 destinations across the globe.

While Three network might not be everywhere, those who frequently visit the UK and other regions the carrier is available will be glad to see this update come to life. The good side of the story is that when abroad, users will still pay the same $10 per GB that applies when at home. Since Project Fi only works with three handsets, Google is offering a great deal on its compatible devices that include the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.

Last year’s Nexus 6P can now be bought for just $349, but this is the base model of 32GB. For the 64GB variant, you will have to part with $399 whereas the 128GB variant needs $499. It gets even better with Nexus 5X as the low-end model now sells for $199 for the 16GB variant while the 32GB variant costs $249. In order to take advantage of these deals, you need to activate a new Project Fi SIM.

Apparently, the promo will be here for just a week, so make sure you hurry and grab the deal before it expires.
