Verizon has released a new software update for the Google Pixel 3 series, Pixel 4 series, Pixel 5, Nokia 2 V Tella, Motorola One 5G UW, One 5G UW Ace, and Moto Z4. It brings a new security patch to the phones.
The new software update for Google Pixel phones brings the latest August 2021 security patch, while the Motorola One 5G UW, One 5G UW Ace, Nokia 2 V Tella, and Moto Z4 are receiving July 2021 security patch. Read more about the new update in their respective sections.
Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3a XL
The Pixel 3 and 3 XL are receiving their 35th system update, while the Pixel 3a and 3a XL are receiving system update number 28 from Verizon. Regardless of the different software update numbers, the new update brings the August 2021 security patch to all the Pixel 3 series phones.
Google Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, and Pixel 4a 5G
Similar to the Pixel 3 series, the Pixel 4 series is also receiving August 2021 security patch with the new update. It is a minor security patch update that does not bring any UI changes, new features, or performance improvements. The new update is rolling out as system update 22 for the Pixel 4 and 4 XL, while Pixel 4a is receiving its 12th and Pixel 4a 5G is receiving its 9th system update from Verizon.
Google Pixel 5
Verizon-bound Google Pixel 5 is receiving a new software update that bumps the Android security patch to August 2021. The changelog does not mention any other changes. So, don’t expect to see any new features or performance improvements. It is rolling out as system update number 10 for Verizon’s Pixel 5.
Motorola One 5G UW, One 5G UW Ace, and Moto Z4
Motorola One 5G UW, One 5G UW Ace, and Moto Z4 are receiving July 2021 security patch with the new software update. In addition to this, the Motorola One 5G UW Ace’s new update also fixes the Visual voicemail displaying issue and sim card recognition issue. The new update is identified as system update 1 for Motorola One 5G UW Ace, 7th for One 5G UW is receiving 7th, and 13th system update for Moto Z4.
Nokia 2 V Tella
Verizon-bound Nokia 2 V Tella is receiving its 5th system update that brings July 2021 security patch. It fixes a bunch of vulnerabilities that improves system security and privacy. Apart from a new security patch, the update log does not mention any other changes.
