Despite the ongoing strike by the Screen Actors Guild, there is little chance of the development process of GTA 6 suffering from a delay.
Ever since the first official trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6 came out a couple of months back, the one thing everybody is curious about is the release date of the game. Even before Rockstar Games confirmed that it was working on the development process of the next iteration in the GTA franchise in early 2022, fans had been eagerly looking forward to GTA 6. GTA 5 was released way back in 2013 and it is quite natural for fans to want to try out the next game in the franchise and dive into newer adventures.

Take-Two Interactive, which happens to be the parent company of Rockstar Games, has confirmed that GTA 6 will be getting an autumn 2025 release. Though a date has not been specified by the gaming studio, fans are quite confident that it will stick to its word. Fans are also hopeful that the second trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6, as and when it arrives, will give them a better idea about the world of the game and the different elements it comprises.
A while back, video game actors, who were a part of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA), had planned to go on a strike to protest against the usage of generative AI in video games. This particular strike would have slowed down the development process of several video games that were in the development process. Take-Two Interactive was one of those gaming companies which the SAG-AFTRA was upset with.
A spokesperson representing the Screen Actors Guild recently shared their thoughts on the issue. The spokesperson stated that the game has been produced by a struck company and those who are a part of the SAG-AFTRA could show their solidarity with the protest and the movement by not signing any new contract with these companies. The spokesperson, however, has said that they have the option of continuing to work on the game and no action will be taken against them for doing so.

The statement given by the spokesperson has made it clear that the employees of Rockstar Games can continue to work on the development process of GTA 6. Since the game is scheduled to be released next year, it is not an immediate crisis. If the strike comes to an end in the next few days, things will be back to normal. Before that, the employees can decide whether they want to work for Rockstar during these times or not.
