GTA 6 PC Release Date Will be the Same as Xbox One X and PS4 Pro

Before you get super excited about GTA 6 release date, know that developer Rockstar is known for delaying their games by years.

Rumors claim that the multi-platform title will get launched in 2022 which is still a couple of years away.

PC Gamers are often overlooked by Rockstar as the developer always focuses more on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles first. Red Dead Redemption never made its way past the PS3 and Xbox 360 to the PC platform. Most players assumed that the GTA 5 will never make its way to Windows computers because of the delay associated with it.

Missed Console Cycle Delayed GTA V

When Grand Theft Auto V got released, Rockstar was stuck in a bad position. They wanted to make sure the massive number of PS3 and Xbox 360 purchased their game on launch date. Not so surprisingly, the development team decided to discriminate the PS4 console over the PS3 because the former was newly launched and was yet to be widely adopted. The game was originally launched in 2013 on last generation consoles and there was no word on when it will find its way to PS4 and Xbox One.

Eventually, Rockstar released it on the newer consoles but once again skipped to make any announcements about a PC version. It sparked lots of rumors and PC gamers believed that they will never get the game as it happened with Red Dead Redemption. It was not the case as GTA V was launched in PC with 4K resolution support and first-person mode in 2015.

GTA 6 PC Release Date Will Not Get Delayed

This is some great news for PC Gamers! While Rockstar or no official source has made an announcement, it is evident that GTA 6 is in development. Red Dead Redemption 2 will get launched first and the next game in the Grand Theft Auto series will launch in 2022 according to rumors. When it does, the newly launched PS4 Pro and Xbox One X consoles will be more than capable of handling improved graphics.

Microsoft and Sony may have launched their next generation machines by then, such as the PlayStation 5 or a new Xbox. While the newly launched consoles will surely be more powerful than the ones we have now, consoles recently have adopted the concept of backward compatibility. Sony refuses to bring it to PS4 but Microsoft has ensured that Xbox One S, Xbox One X,and any other future console is able to play all titles including original Xbox games.

Going by this trend, Rockstar will have no reason to delay the launch of GTA 6 in 2022. The game is expected to launch on all platforms on the same date or they may choose to have a six-month release window between PS4, Xbox One,and the PC edition. Besides, the question of whether GTA 6 will land on PC has also been thwarted as GTA 5 was eventually released and so will the new game as well.
