Halo Infinite Infection Map Pays A Tribute To Rooster Teeth

The production company, which put its weight behind projects like Red vs. Blue, shut down earlier this year.

A new map designed for the Infection game mode of Halo Infinite pays tribute to the production company Rooster Teeth. The production company shut down a couple of months back and now it finds a tribute being paid to it through this newly introduced map.

Rooster Teeth was the company that had backed gaming web series like Red vs. Blue. The series spanned 18 seasons and played an important role in solidifying the reputation as a company that was serious about making gaming-based content that would resonate with a large section of gamers. Red vs. Blue came to an end around the same time a decision was taken to bring the curtains down on Rooster Teeth.

In the last few years, one witnessed a plethora of Rooster Teeth personalities lent their voice to the Halo games. This showed that the company was held in high esteem by both Bungie and 343 Industries. This latest tribute serves as a testament to the fact that Rooster Teeth played a key role in propagating the culture of Halo in the last few decades.

Redditor MonkeysxMoo35 recently observed that Studio Fright, the new Halo Infinite Infection map put together by community member UnknownEmerald, comes equipped with a set that fans of Rooster Teeth will recognize immediately. This happens to be the set of the Rooster Teeth Podcast which was active between 2008 and 2024. The Halo Infinite version serves as a representation of later iterations and had a distinctive identity of its own. Though one does not expect everybody to get this reference, this is an important tribute that deserves a mention.

Many in the gaming community lamented at Rooster Teeth shutting down. However, its legacy continues to live on. Machinisma was at the peak of its popularity from the mid to late 2000s. In recent years, however, it has lost much of its sheen. Red vs. Blue was one of the last few properties to thrive in this space. In the near future, there is a good possibility of gamers seeing a few Red vs. Blue and Rooster Teeth Easter eggs in Halo games. Those who enjoyed shows like Red vs. Blue should be happy to see these easter eggs popping up.

The Halo franchise has gone through several interesting developments in the last few years. A couple of weeks ago, it was confirmed that 343 Industries, the developer behind Halo, would be renaming itself as Halo Studios. It was also stated that it would be taking the help of Unreal Engine 5 for the projects it develops in the near future.
