HTC launched the HTC U Ultra and U Play at a special event towards mid-January, but up to now, the phones are not yet available for purchase.
A quick look at the official HTC website for the U.S. market confirms that the HTC U Ultra is already available for pre-order, but there is no sign of the midrange HTC U Play. The flagship U Ultra is selling a high-end fee of $749 and so far, the company says that the current orders will start shipping in mid-March, although there is no specific date as to when this will be happening.
So far, the HTC U Ultra will start selling in the Middle East as from February 22, which is this week Wednesday, while those in the UK will start seeing it on the first day of next month. If HTC sticks to its listed date, the U Ultra will be available in the U.S. a whole month after availability in Asia. Interestingly, the listings on the company’s Middle East and UK websites can confirm that the HTC U Play will also be available in this region, although the pricing details are not yet available.
Now, in a new report, the FCC has listed two HTC smartphones that are likely to be the HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play. The listed phones have model numbers 2PYR200 and 2PYR210 and so far, these two are only different based on their colors. Of course, terming the two model numbers as either HTC U Ultra or HTC U Play is pure speculation since the Taiwanese company nor FCC have confirmed this detail just yet, but given that HTC won’t be attending the MWC 2017 and it will also be releasing fewer devices this year, it could only mean that this listing revolves around these two phones.
