HTC fans have always had to part with relatively larger amounts of money in order to get phones of their choice – phones that other OEMs would have offered for a much cheaper price tag.
In fact, one major thing that has contributed to the brand’s competitiveness in the market is the pricing of their devices. The Taiwanese tech giant has been unable to change with times, but it seems it’s not yet ready to give up.
Just recently, HTC announced that it will be holding an event on March 20 where it’s lining up an unexpected surprise for the fans. While this surprise is still unknown, people close to the matter believe that a new HTC Desire 650 will be launched at the event. Even though this has not been confirmed, we are now seeing signs of a possible midrange device coming in as the current HTC Desire 628 and Desire 626 Dual SIM are now starting to see discounts, something that is not easy to come by.
Folks in India can now rejoice as the HTC Desire 628 is now selling at Rs 11,990 while the HTC Desire 626 Dual-SIM is available for Rs 9,990. This means that each phone has been discounted by Rs 1,000, which is still not that a big margin. So far, the 16GB variant of the Desire 626 is already out of stock, which shows just how much people were waiting for this discount. As for the Desire 628, it’s still available and you can grab one in sunset blue or cobalt white with 32GB of storage.
You’ll come across the same 5-inch HD display screen on either phone, but the HTC Desire 628 has better protection from scratches and cracks thanks to Gorilla Glass 3 technology. The same 13MP/5MP lenses are used, but the rest of the specs are upgraded on the Desire 628, including moving from 2GB RAM to 3GB RAM, a 2000mAh battery on the 626 and 2200mAh unit on the 628, Android KitKat on the 626 and Android Lollipop on the 628, among others.
The phones can be purchased via the official HTC online store.
