We know a few things about the HTC U 11 thanks to the leaks and rumors that have been doing rounds for the past month or so.
The Taiwanese company has also confirmed that the HTC U 11 will be here on 16th of this month. Now, a couple of weeks before the phone is actually unveiled, we now have more details regarding the technical specifications of the phone thanks to a leaked retail box art.
While previous leaks have been more about the looks of the upcoming HTC U 11, the latest development gives us a clear look at what we can expect to find under the hood of the HTC 10 successor. We had received earlier confirmations that the handset will join the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Mi 6 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium in shipping with the latest chipset for flagship phones – Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.
Apparently, the HTC U 11 will come in with a roomy 5.5-inch display screen that is powered by a QHD resolution and has protection from Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 technology. The already powerful Snapdragon 835 processor will further be boosted by a massive 6GB RAM and even though not mentioned, you can expect to see a storage chip of at least 64GB, with support for a microSD card of up to 2TB.
Last year’s HTC 10 was among the best performers when it comes to cameras. Well, the incoming HTC U 11 will take this photography battle to the next level thanks to a new 12MP UltraPixel 3 lens on the back – a lens that has a large f/1.7 aperture, UltraSpeed autofocus, as well as optical image stabilization. For the front part, you get the same unit as what’s used on the HTC U Ultra – a 16MP lens with an aperture of f/2.0.
HTC U 11 will also come with an IP57-rated body, Edge Sense, HTC Usonic, HTC BoomSound, 3D audio-recording as well as support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology, but the battery capacity is not confirmed. Although not mentioned, you can expect to see at least Android 7.0 Nougat running the show out of the box.
With only two weeks to the phone’s launch, we should get to know more details about the price and specific availability sooner than later. We’ll keep you informed!
