Two new HTC Smartphones labeled HTC 2Q55100 and HTC 2Q55300 have appeared on Geekbench benchmarking platform.
Since they are driven by the Snapdragon 845, they could well be the HTC U12+ flagship phone that is scheduled to get official tomorrow.
The Geekbench listing reveals that the HTC U12+ has scored 2407 in single-core and 8894 in multi-core tests on Geekbench. These scores are pretty decent for a flagship phone. In another listing, it has scored 2404 in single-core and 8953 in multi-core tests.
The HTC handset is running on Android 8.0 Oreo. The octa-processor of the Snapdragon 845 can be seen clocking at 1.77 GHz. It features 6 GB of RAM. Apart from HTC U12+, there is no other Smartphone by the Taiwanese company that is powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset. Hence, both HTC 2Q55100 and 2Q55300 phones that have surfaced on the benchmarking site could be none other than the U12+.
The entire specifications of the phone have surfaced through multiple sources in the recent weeks. Leaked information has revealed that 64 GB and 128 GB storage variants of the U12+ will respectively feature 6 GB of RAM. It will be housing 5.99-inch Super LCD6 display that will support QHD+ resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 18:9. A 3,500mAh battery enabled with Quick Charge 3.0 will be powering the phone.
Like the predecessor U11 and U11+ Smartphone’s, it will continue to sport IP68 certified Liquid Surface design that has a reflective appeal. It is expected to be available in colors like Ceramic Black, Flame Red and Perspective Blue.
It’s also worth mentioning that this phone has already been certified in the Russian certification site EEC for the same model number HTC 2Q55100 which makes it clear that this is in for a global launch.
The U12+ will be arriving with a pair of 8-megapixel front-facing cameras with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree field of view. The horizontal dual camera setup on the rear will feature 12-megapixel wide-angle Ultra Pixel primary lens coupled with 16-megapixel telephoto lens. The dual cameras will include support for OIS, AR stickers, bokeh effect and dual-LED flash. Apart from fingerprint scanner, the U12+ will offer users with face unlock feature.
As far as pricing is concerned, the brief appearance of the U12+ Smartphone on a testing sub-domain of HTC’s official site for China has revealed that its 128 GB model would be costing 5,888 Yuan ($925). In Taiwan, the 64 GB and 128 GB HTC U12+ are expected to arrive with respective pricing of NT$23,500 ($786) and NT$24,900 ($833).
