Not so long ago, Huawei Honor 6X users in India started receiving the latest Android 7.0 Nougat beta with the stable version expected to come somewhere in May. Well, those in the U.S. can now speak the same language as their Indian counterparts with the Nougat beta program now open in the country.
If you reside in the U.S. and use the Huawei Honor 6X, well, there’s a recruitment into the phone’s Android 7.0 Nougat beta program going on as at the time of this writing. The company had confirmed earlier that the stable version will be rolled out somewhere in Q2 2017, something that goes hand-in-hand with the recent confirmation of the release date for the Indian market.
The company took to its official Twitter account to make this news public, confirming that the beta update will go live today. If you are interested in being part of the testing group, you need to apply in order to be accepted into the program and immediately start receiving the new EMUI 5.0-based updates.
The registration process requires that you send the IMEI number of your Huawei Honor 6X to the company’s email address at huaweifut@huawei.com. As for those who use the dual-SIM variant, make sure that you include the two IMEI numbers associated with the phone when sending the email. Those selected will be informed, of course, but further details are still scarce.

Keep in mind that being part of the Huawei Honor 6X Android 7.0 Nougat beta program will mean that you are using software that is incomplete. It is your duty to help the company ensure that the rest of the public receive a stable version that is free or errors and bugs. To make this happen, you might be asked to provide feedback from now and then on various aspects of the OS’ experience on your Honor 6X.
If you feel this is too much for you, well, there’s always the easier way out – simply sit back and wait for the release of the stable version in April or May, which is not so far away.
