Huawei Honor 8 Pro Made Official in Russia, Launching in Europe Next Week

Huawei Honor 8 Pro

The Huawei Honor V9 is an exciting new phone announced for the Chinese market first.

As rumoured earlier, the company is bringing it to other countries as the Honor 8 Pro and Russia seems to have got it first ahead of others.

Huawei made the announcement official and it is now confirmed that the Honor 8 Pro is coming to the country. The confirmation was made based on a retailer listing and the specifications of the device. According to the retailer, the new phone is quite large with a 5.7-inch display and has a QHD resolution. On the rear side, it packs a dual 12-megapixel camera setup which is capable of capturing videos at 4K resolution.

The Honor phones have been focusing very strongly on the camera segment and the newest 8 Pro sets a new benchmark on paper. We will know more about how it works and the quality of pictures the phone is capable of producing. Being able to capture 4K videos on phones sound amazing at this point but within the next few years, as processors become more powerful it may become the norm for all other manufacturers including Apple iPhones.

Under the shell, the Huawei Honor 8 Pro is powered by a Kirin 960 processor which is already used to power up the Mate 9 and the P10 models. The phone has 6GB of RAM which should be more than enough for everyday tasks. The RAM size is very large and could easily power any desktop computer but such overkills are pretty common in flagship devices these days. Huawei wants to stay on top against their competitors which is evident from these specifications.

The phone supports Cat.6 LTE connectivity and has dual SIM slots making it easy for users to subscribe to more than one network at a time. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is just 7mm thick making it the slimmest phone. The operating system is layered with EMUI 5.1 which adds some useful apps but usually don’t have any bloatware that hinders the Android experience.

While Huawei did confirm that the Honor 8 Pro is getting launched in Russia, the company didn’t reveal the pricing yet. It will go on sale in Europe by April 5th and we may possibly know the actual pricing for the phone. The device is expected to get launched in other regions after it is made available for buyers in Russia and Europe.
