The recent past has been dominated by news of the Huawei Honor V9 possibly making its debut in Europe and other markets as the Honor 8 Pro, but very little has been heard about the predecessor of the phone, the Huawei Honor V8.
Well, this is expected given that we already know what we need to know about the Honor V8. But perhaps there’s something new that you need to take note of, especially if you are anticipating the release of the new Android 7.0 Nougat OS on the phone.
While the likes of Huawei Honor 6X, Honor 5C and Honor 8 have been all over the internet when it comes to Android 7.0 Nougat updates, there’s little we know about the same update as far as Honor V8 is concerned. But this is no more and in fact, the device appears to be getting ready for the update, if the latest Geekbench listing is anything to go by.
The benchmarking platform has listed the Huawei Honor V8 with model number KNT-AL10 and the phone has Android 7.0 Nougat running the show. Just to keep you informed, there are two variants of the Honor V8, where one has a Kirin 950 SoC and the other has a Kirin 955 SoC. The former has two model numbers in the shape of KNT-AL10 and KNT-TL10 while the latter has model number KNT-AL20. As you can see, the model in question here has a Kirin 950 SoC on board clocked at a speed of 1.8GHz and is paired with 4GB RAM.
The fact that the Huawei Honor V8 has appeared on Geekbench with Android 7.0 Nougat on board only suggests that the OS is currently being tested on the phone. With this in mind, we can’t really tell the exact date that it will be rolled out, but it shouldn’t be long from now, probably in a few weeks’ time.
We’ll be here to let you know when this happens. Keep following!
