Huawei Mate 10 Pro Goes Head-to-Head with Google Pixel 2 in DxoMark Scores

Huawei Mate 10 Pro

Smartphone cameras are now very smart if we are to go by the latest DxoMark scores.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro comes dangerously close to Google Pixel 2 as it scored a massive 97 with the best smartphone camera you could lay out hands on.

The score is just a point lesser than what Google Pixel 2 scored (It got 98 from DxoMark). The scores are revealed only after the company extensively tests the camera in multiple conditions including low light, indoors and moving images. The Mate 10 Pro has a dual camera setup just like many other models released in the recent past and uses technology provided by Leica.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro couldn’t beat the Pixel 2 but it has already emerged out as a clear winner against world’s most popular phones, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus and Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8. The phone sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with RGB sensor while the secondary camera is of 20-megapixel with a monochrome sensor. The camera has an impressive f/1.6 aperture powered by Leica lenses and also has dual-tone LED flash for best lights even in the most demanding conditions.

The camera is a pretty powerful one at that confirmed by the slew of photographs DxoMark took and it also has the capability to capture 4K video, making it the most reliable camera anyone could get on a smartphone. Huawei has definitely set a new benchmark for every other competitor out there with the best dual camera setup.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro Goes Google Pixel 2 in DxoMark

Google Pixel 2 on the other hand claims that dual cameras are not necessary to achieve the results and they are probably right because DxoMark scored them a massive 98 score even though the phone Pixel 2 sports a single camera in the rear. If proven to be true, soon all flagship smartphones may stop using dual cameras and it will save space allowing them to add more components to the device, probably a 3.5mm jack?

According to the reviewers who gave the Huawei Mate 10 Pro a DxoMark score of 97, the phone’s camera provides good exposure, especially when it comes to capturing photographs in indoor conditions. The bokeh effect provided by the dual camera is one of the best they have seen in any smartphone for that matter and an equally impressive autofocus capability found in the Mate 10 Pro camera has convinced the entire team to score it at the highest possible number.
