Huawei P10 and P10 Plus Pre-orders are Live on Rogers ahead of July 6 Release

Samsung Galaxy S8+ vs Huawei P10 Plus

It’s been a while since Huawei P10 and P10 Plus were released. The two were first made official in February during the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Spain.

At the time, the tech giant confirmed that both Huawei P10 and P10 Plus will be sold in Canada, but there was no confirmed date for their arrival. Well, it’s finally here and if you have been waiting for this to happen, Rogers is giving you a chance to pre-order any of the two phones starting today.

You should know by now that the Huawei P10 has some differences with the P10 Plus. It is for this reason that Rogers is selling the former at $649 off-contract while the latter has a price tag of $749 without a contract. The good side of the story is that you can have either phone on a contract and in fact, you’ll end up paying less for the devices.

For instance, taking the Huawei P10 on the carrier’s two-year Talk & Text plan will set you back $499 while the Huawei P10 Plus on the same plan will set you back just $599. For those who want to go with the two-year Smart Tab plan or two-year Premium+ Tab plans, the P10 will set you back $149 on the former and $0 on the latter while the P10 Plus will set you back $299 on the former and $0 on the latter. As for the Premium Tab plan, you can have the P10 Plus for $149 for a period of two years.

Rogers has kicked off things a bit early, with the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus expected to start selling in the country a month from now, beginning July 6. If you are not a fan of Rogers, the standard P10 will also be sold through other carriers such as Bell, Fido and Videotron, but the larger P10 Plus is exclusive to Rogers.

To remind you about the specs, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus have the same Kirin 960 SoC and 4GB RAM under the hood, with the storage for the former at 32GB while the latter has 64GB. Both have room for a microSD card slot. There’s a dual-lens 20MP+12MP camera on the back of each phone (although the P10 Plus’ is better in terms of specs and features) and an 8MP sensor for selfies as well as Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Where the Huawei P10 has a compact 5.1-inch Full HD display, the P10 Plus has a bigger 5.5-inch panel with a QHD resolution. This also means that the former has a smaller 3200mAh battery as opposed to the latter’s 3750mAh unit.
