We recently talked up the OnePlus 5 and the alleged June 15 release date. Well, it appears that this will indeed be the date we get to see the OnePlus 3 and 3T successor, at least according to new evidence.
A previously leaked image allegedly from OnePlus appeared to suggest that the company will unveil the OnePlus 5 in about two weeks’ time. Yesterday, a series of retail boxes were teased via the official OnePlus weibo account, adding more weight to the rumor that the phone will be unveiled this month.
Well, we have new evidence that adds more weight to this speculation that the OnePlus 5 will be unveiled mid this month. In the leaked poster, there’s the mention of Hello 5, which is what appeared in the first teaser the company threw at us a while back. Furthermore, there’s a date as well as the mention of DxO, which is the company that is working closely with OnePlus in a bid to deliver the best camera possible. In short, this is sought of the invitation poster for the launch of the upcoming OnePlus 5.
Other than these, the leak doesn’t talk about the expected specs and features of this OnePlus 5 phone. But as noted earlier, we’ve already heard quite a lot about this phone. If rumors and leaks are to be believed, we’ll see a phone that packs a 5.5-inch AMOLED display screen with a resolution of 1080p and under the hood, the Snapdragon 835 SoC will run the show alongside a RAM of at least 6GB. The storage will also remain at 64GB and 128GB, but don’t expect a microSD card slot, just like the previous model.
More rumors also point towards a dual-lens camera on the back of the OnePlus 5, but the fingerprint scanner will keep its place on the front panel, doubling as the home button as well. For the software, the phone will ship with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and if rumors are to be believed, the new OnePlus 5 may come out as the most expensive phone from the company, yet.
