The Renault Megane RS is coming soon but before its official reveal, there are plenty of leaks and new information that keeps pouring in from time to time.
The upcoming model will be provided with a choice to select between two different chassis and uses a four-wheel drive system. The car will be equipped with the popular 4CONTROL technology which allows the driver to have better control irrespective of the speed they are travelling at. Besides, being a hot hatch that can provide up to 300 horsepower the tweaks are mandatory facilitating the best cornerning agility in bends and an improved level of stability offering the ultimate racer car like experience on road.
The base model of the Megane RS will be mounted on top of the Sports chassis which is the defaultchoice. However, there is an option to upgrade it to the track honed Cup chassis giving the additional sporty looks and finish the car deserves. A couple of new photographs have been released which gives a good idea of how it looks before the official reveal at the Frankfurt motor show.
Honda has already managed to capture the record for being the fastest front wheel drive car available in the market. It was achieved by the Civic Type R model and the upcoming RS from the house of Renault might give it a tough run because it already holds the record for being the fastest in the Nurburgring track. The first look for the car was done at the Monaco Grand Prix last month and more will be discussed at the upcoming Frankfurt show.
While most cars are usually leaked through spy shots, Renault has released their own spy photos giving people a good idea of what to look forward to. The aggressive frontline is going to be the most talked about design aspect of the Renault Megane RS which will directly rival the Hyundai i30 N and the Honda Civic Type R.
Under the hood, the car is expected to be powered by the 1.8-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, a powertrain already being used to power the Alpine A110. The newest engine is capable of producing about 249 horsepower combined with 320Nm of torque. The overall performance numbers is expected to go much higher close to 300hp when the company is ready to reveal their next high power sports model. The official reveal is close that should answer a lot of questions related to the Renault Megane RS model.
