iQOO 8 Could Be the World’s First Phone with Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC and 160W Fast Charging

iQOO 8 key specifications surface on the internet ahead of  August 4 launch.

iQOO 7 series which went official this year made a good impression among the users due to great performance at affordable pricing. Now, the company has started the preparation for the iQOO 7 successor and that will be called iQOO 8. A recent video shared by Feng Yufei, iQOO president hinted that the iQOO 8 series may launch in China on August 4. In the video, Feng didn’t explicitly mention the iQOO 8, but a recent image shared by @WHYLAB confirmed that the next generation iQOO phone will be called iQOO 8.

Leaked Specifications

While we are less than 3 weeks away from the launch, leaks have started popping up on the internet revealing key specifications of the upcoming iQOO 8. Reliable Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station shared a device settings screenshot and revealed some key details. The screenshot reveals that iQOO 8 is powered by Snapdragon 888 Plus and could be the World’s first phone to launch with the new chipset. The phone has a 12GB RAM variant which comes with 256GB internal storage and supports 4GB of virtual RAM.

iQOO 8 carries model number V2141A which was recently spotted in China’s MIIT database. The tipster also claims that the phone has a 3200 × 1440 pixels resolution display. On the software front, it runs Android-11 based OriginOS 1.0 for iQOO. A recent report from Mydrivers suggests that iQOO 8 may support 160W fast charging. Currently, 120W is the maximum supported fast charging in any smartphone, and now it seems like iQOO 8 may take it to the next level. If the August 4 launch date is true, then the company will start putting teasers in the coming days to build hype.
