Latest Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Update Brings Volumes of Improvements

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

There is a new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 update available for download. However, the new update has little to do with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (for those who haven’t received the update just yet), but it has everything to do with those using the Snapdragon variant in Europe.

The Galaxy Note 4 with model number SM-N910F is the one in question here. Sold across Europe, the Korean company has now turned to pushing new updates to this 2014 phablet. The phone started receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow back in May and as of now, quite a number of people using this device have already updated to the latest version.

The latest update, though, comes with a build date of May 25 and according to Samsung, it will be bringing quite a number of needed updates and improvements. Some of the most notable additions include battery usage optimization, improved usability as well as improved performance coupled with better memory management.

If you live in Italy, France, Germany, Bulgaria and several other European countries, you will need to make sure that your Galaxy Note 4 has at least 340MB of free storage space as this is the estimated weight of the update. If you are in any of these regions and haven’t seen the OTA notification, you can manually check for its availability via Settings>About phone>Software update.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has another variant that is based on the company’s Exynos processor. Although both were released at the same time, there is no word of when the Exynos variant will be receiving this same update currently being pushed to the Snapdragon variant. However, it won’t be long before this happens.

As noted earlier, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is a 2014 phablet that packs either a Snapdragon 805 SoC or Exynos 5433 SoC. Other than the different chipsets, the rest of the spec sheet remains the same for both variants. For either chipset, you will still be getting a RAM of 3GB and 32GB of expandable storage. The rear has a 16MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and OIS whereas the front has a 3.9MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture.

The Note 4 has a screen size of 5.7 inches with Super AMOLED QHD resolution on board and while it comes with Android KitKat out of the box, a Marshmallow update is already available for download.
