Apple is supposedly prepping a new, 4-inch smartphone known as the iPhone SE. While this news has remained to be speculations on the higher side, emerging reports only but the pint-sized iPhone is indeed going to be released.
Apple is expected to hold an event this coming Monday and it is during this event the phone is expected to be unveiled to the public. The iPhone SE cases have apparently been teased in a 3D video and as it seems, the phone is not really a mini iPhone 6S, but it is, in fact, a monster iPhone 5S.
TechSmartt received a case from Sonny Dickson, who usually appears in Apple’s supply chain and from this case, the crew came up with a 3D-printed iPhone SE based on the available dimensions. The images show that the upcoming smartphone will be a lot slimmer and more appealing than what the iPhone 5S manages. Furthermore, you may come across a similar camera as what appears on the 2014 flagship.
iPhone SE is a mixture of iPhone 5S and iPhone 6
According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone SE will actually be in its own league, boasting top-notch features from both the older iPhone 5S and the newer iPhone 6S. As far as iPhone 5S is concerned, the dimensions are not any different; however, the crew at 9to5Mac can confirm that the curved edges will not be shiny. Other things such as the power button, volume buttons and headphone jack will not change from what the older iPhone 5S has.
As mentioned earlier, the iPhone SE will not be a mini iPhone 6, but rather, a monster iPhone 5S. The device will reportedly pack monster specs under the hood. The same A9 chipset used in the iPhone 6S will be used on this device, in addition to the M9 processor that will be accompanied by Apple Pay’s NFC chip. Furthermore, the report notes that the iPhone maker has upgraded the hardware associated with Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity.
There are also reports that the iPhone SE will come with a 12MP camera on the rear, capable of 4K video shooting just like the latest models. Apple is said to be thinking of bringing two variants of this device based on onboard storage – 16GB and 64GB. As far as colors are concerned, Apple will probably stick to the same offerings it availed with the iPhone 6.
If you have been thinking of getting the iPhone 5S, think of the new iPhone SE as an upgraded version. The phone will reportedly sale in between $400 and $500.
