Previously known as LeTV, LeEco has now established itself as a serious competitor in the smartphone business, but perhaps its heroics are only being felt in its home country of China.
The company was rebranded earlier this year and many came to know it when it did away with the standard 3.5mm headphone jack on its handsets. Well, the likes of Apple and Lenovo have followed suit and they now boast of smartphones that have nothing to do with the headphone jack. After its great performances in China and neighboring Asian countries, it appears that LeEco is ready to break into the U.S. market and it is happening this fall.
After several rumors here and there, the Chinese company has finally pulled down the curtains on the LeEco Le Pro 3 smartphone. As it has become normal with Chinese OEM, the LeEco Le Pro 3 is a phone with a budget price tag, but you will be surprised with what it rocks under the hood. In fact, the phone beats many 2016 Android flagships, yet it is priced less than half of these phones, including the iPhone 7.
The LeEco Le Pro 3 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a 2.5D glass on it. There is a 16MP snapper at the back that supports features like PDAF, LED flash and has a f/2.0 aperture. On the front, you get an 8MP lens with support for wide-angle captures.
The LeEco Le Pro 3 packs the latest Snapdragon 821 SoC that is paired with a RAM of 6GB. There is Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box and due to its size, you get a massive 4070mAh battery unit to take care of business. There is no headphone jack on this phone, which is becoming a norm with LeEco phones. Instead, you get USB Type-C as the standard of connectivity alongside Type-C earbuds. This USB port is capable of handling Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology, meaning you get the charge the phone in the shortest time possible.
After all these amazing specs sheet, you will be surprised with what the LeEco Le Pro 3 is demanding in terms of price. The high-end model comes with a RAM of 6GB and inbuilt storage of 128GB and is valued at just $450 while the midrange version, which comes with 6GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage is valued at $375. As for the base models, which carry 4GB RAM, you get to pay $270 for the 32GB variant while the 64GB variant is priced at $299.
