LG announced that its devices will be among the first ones to receive the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade.
Indeed, the LG G4 started receiving this update towards the end of last year and it is still rolling out to some users in other parts of the world.
If you haven’t yet received the LG G4 Marshmallow update, it is probably due to carrier-related delays; however, you can rest assured that the device’s update is already available.
Verizon users received the LG G3 Marshmallow update on the same date as those on last year’s flagship. Those using the G4 on T-Mobile got the same update earlier last month; nearly a month after those using the same device on U.S. Cellular started seeing the Marshmallow update. Sprint was, actually, among the first to unveil the update back in December for the same G4.
LG G3 Marshmallow update for international variant to start rolling out on March 14
The latest reports reveal that the LG G3 Marshmallow update for its international variant will start rolling out this coming March 14. As mentioned earlier, the G3 received the Marshmallow update on the same date as LG G4 for those on Verizon.
On separate occasions, was reported that the LG G Flex 2 will also be receiving the Android Marshmallow update this March. Even though the date is not specific, probably it won’t be long before it comes out. The same is also expected to happen for the LG V10 and the G4 Stylo, even though the former was meant to have the update in the just-concluded month of February.
If you own any of the above-mentioned devices and you haven’t yet received the update, keep checking for it through Settings and tap on the System Update.
The new Android Marshmallow update comes with quite a number of goodies for those using LG G4, G4 Stylo, G3 as well as the G Flex 2 and V10. These include Google Now on Tap, Doze mode, Android Pay and many others.
While this is happening, T-Mobile is offering the LG G4 for a discounted price of $349.99 in preparation for the recently-unveiled LG G5. The new phone comes in with a 5.3-inch screen that boasts 2K resolution, packs a 2,800mAh removable battery and is powered by the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Under the hood, the device packs a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded using an SD card. The G5’s rear and front cameras are 16MP and 8MP respectively.
